Gordon Wusyk has been working with business families for over thirty years and is the founder of Predictable Futures Inc.

Gordon has first hand experience with a failed family business succession and has a deep, personal understanding of the strife a mishandled succession can cause for both the family and the business. Gordon was born into an entrepreneurial family with a cattle ranch and a furniture moving business. His entrepreneurial father died suddenly at the age of 59 and left a mess – not a masterpiece. Since then, Gordon has spent his business career, working alongside business families to help them avoid the issues his family faced.

Throughout his career, Gordon has been very active in organizations that serve the interests of family business owners. He was Canadian President of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFÉ) from 1994 to 1998 and continues to be active in CAFÉ. He is a member of the Family Firm Institute (FFI), the international body for family enterprise professionals and holds an FFI Certificate in Advising Families. He is a past board member of the Business Family Foundation (BFF) where he assisted in designing the Roadmap Course for Entrepreneurial Families. Currently, he attends workshops hosted by the Family Business Consulting Group (FBCG).

Gordon first founded the Wusyk Financial Group and as a Family Business Consultant he later founded Predictable Futures Inc. He established Predictable Futures to work together with families and their advisors to coordinate a holistic succession plan that takes into consideration not only the transfer of assets to the next generation but also the transfer of values.

Gordon is an avid writer and public speaker, and in 2010, released his first book “Drift, Drown or Decide; Navigational Tools for Business Families in Transition.”

He has been married to his wife Gloria for 49 years and has a son Geoffery, a daughter Gisselle, four granddaughters and one great grandson. He serves many local and national organizations including his personal favorite Young Life, where he served on the National Board for 16 years.

Gordon has a B.Ed degree from the University of Alberta and holds the following financial designations CLU, CFP, CH.F.C. and TEP.

Trained Family Business Consultant

While his profession of origin was financial planning, Gordon has been spent numerous years being mentored by Dr. Leon Danco of the Centre for Family Business in Cleveland, Ohio – the grandfather of family business consulting in North America. Dr. Danco has passed his publishing rights in Canada to Predictable Futures Inc. and Gordon Wusyk, the most notable text being “Beyond Survival – The guide to the Family Owner.
